IMPORTANT Summer Camp Information

Parents and Adult Leaders:

Please find the following documents attached to this email:

1. Topics discussed at last night’s Parents’ Meeting

2. Merit Badge Spreadsheet

3. Summer Camp Permission Slip

4. Information on the Firecrafter Program and rank requirements

5. Checklist for T-Shirts and Permission Slips

These are the things that I need from you:

1. Please have your son look at the Merit Badge Spreadsheet. If anything is incorrect, please let me know immediately.

2. Please take a look at the Checklist for T-Shirts and Permission Slips. If I have anything down for your Scout, please make sure it is correct. If I don’t have anything down for your Scout, I either need it or I lost it, so I need it again. I need the information regarding T-Shirts as soon as possible. I need a size (Medium, Large, XL, or 2XL) and if you want your Scout to get a second shirt. Remember, if you order a second T-Shirt, then $7.00 will be deducted from your son’s Scout account.

3. The Permission Slip (fully completed and signed by a parent/guardian) is due by Monday, June 20th.

3. I also need T-Shirt information for all adults attending camp (please check the checklist to make sure the information is correct). If you are planning to attend Summer Camp and I don’t have your name on my list, please forgive me. Just send me an email and I’ll add you!

4. I need to know if any Scouts or Adults have any dietary restrictions, food allergies, and/or special food needs by Monday, June 27th.

And, as we discussed last night, there will be Zero Tolerance for cell phones at camp this year. An adult leader will confiscate the phone, turn it off, and then give it to a parent when we return from camp. Since the Scouts will be leaving their cell phones at home, it might be a good idea to get them an inexpensive watch so they’ll always know what time it is!!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks! ~~Brian

Summer Camp 2011 Parents’ Meeting

This is just a friendly reminder that the Summer Camp Parents’ Meeting is scheduled for this Monday, June 13, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in The Point at Traders Point Christian Church. This meeting will take place at the same time as our regular Monday night Troop meeting. Please note that the Scouts will be meeting in The Block, right next door to The Point.

Important information regarding Summer Camp will be disseminated during this meeting. I strongly encourage at least one parent/guardian of each Scout be present, even if you have attended in the past. Some new information for 2011 will be discussed as well.

I will need to get your son’s size for his 2011 Summer Camp T-Shirt.

A limited number of T-Shirts from previous Summer Camps will be available during the meeting at a price of $5.00 per shirt.

For those adult leaders/parents that are planning to attend camp this year, I will also need to collect your fees of $105.00 during the meeting.

Again, I cannot stress the importance of your attendance at this meeting.

If you have any Summer Camp-related questions, please bring them with you to the meeting.

Thanks,

Brian D. Crow

Summer Camp 2011 – Adult Leaders and/or Parents

Dear Troop 69 Adult Leaders and Parents,

It’s now time to officially identify those adult leaders and/or parents that would like to accompany the Troop to Summer Camp this year.

The adult fee for the entire week of camp is $105.00. This includes $90.00 for camp fees, $7.50 for our in-camp dinner Wednesday evening, and $7.50 for a Troop T-Shirt, which we will wear every morning for breakfast (there will be an opportunity to purchase additional shirts before camp).

Like Scouts, there will be two adults per tent (unless you bring your own). Each adult will have a camp-provided cot and mattress.

If you are planning to attend, I must receive your paid-in-full fees by June 13, 2011 (which happens to be the same night as the mandatory Summer Camp Parents’ Meeting!).

You will also need to submit an Annual Health and Medical Record form to the Troop, no later than June 15, 2011. This is a requirement of the camp and you will not be able to attend Summer Camp without it (actually, this form is needed if you plan to go on any camping trips with the Troop at any time during the next 12 months). For this form, you will need to have a physical examination by a physician and they must sign the form (no stamp).

Please find attached the 2011 Ransburg Leader Guide for your reading enjoyment. FYI – it’s a large file!

Please let me know if you have any questions check your emails for my contact information.

Thanks!
